Disable SysMain (Superfetch) on mechanical hard drives
In 'services.msc', find 'SysMain'. Right-click Properties -> Startup type: 'Disabled' -> click 'Stop' -> OK. Reboot PC.
Check drive health with CrystalDiskInfo for bad sectors
Download CrystalDiskInfo. Check the health status. If status is 'Caution' with 'Current Pending Sector Count' or 'Reallocated Sectors Count' above 0, the drive is failing physically.
