Shut down the PC, turn off the power supply rocker switch (O), and unplug the AC power cord from the wall outlet. Press the front power button once while unplugged to discharge residual capacitor energy before touching any internal components.
Verify cable connection to dedicated GPU, not motherboard
Ensure or cable is plugged directly into the graphics card outputs, not the rear motherboard I/O ports (which require integrated graphics).
Reseat GPU into primary PCIe x16 slot
Unlatch the PCIe retention clip, pull the graphics card, clean dust from slot, and push firmly until the retention latch snaps closed.
Use separate PCIe power cables
Avoid daisy-chaining a single split cable for high-power cards. Run dedicated individual 8-pin PCIe cables directly from the to each connector.
Test with an alternative display cable and port
Swap between and cables. High-resolution monitors can fail handshake if using an outdated or non-VESA certified cable.
