Computer boots directly to blue BitLocker Recovery screen asking for 48-digit numerical key after update or hardware change.

Interactive Fix Checklist

On your phone or another device, go to 'account.microsoft.com/devices/recoverykey'. Sign in with every Microsoft account ever logged into the PC (including school/work accounts). Locate the matching Key ID.
Revert BIOS TPM / Security settings if key is missing
If you cannot find the key and this started immediately after a update: enter settings. Ensure 'fTPM' / 'Intel PTT' is enabled and 'Secure Boot' mode is set to 'Standard'. Do not clear TPM keys.
Suspend BitLocker before performing future BIOS updates
Once back in Windows, open Command Prompt (Admin) and run: 'manage-bde -protectors -disable C:'. Run your update, then run 'manage-bde -protectors -enable C:'. CRITICAL: Never turn off, reset, or unplug the PC while the update is flashing. A power interruption during EEPROM write will corrupt the firmware and brick the motherboard.
