Before making any registry changes, open Registry Editor (Win + R, type regedit, press Enter). Go to File > Export, set Export range to All, and save the .reg backup file to your Desktop. This allows a full restore if something goes wrong.
Disable Multi-Plane Overlay (MPO) in Windows
MPO causes display plane conflicts between Desktop Window Manager (DWM) and AMD driver. Open regedit, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm, create DWORD OverlayTestMode, and set value to 5.
Turn off Enhanced Sync and Hardware Acceleration
In AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition, navigate to Gaming -> Graphics, and set Radeon Enhanced Sync to Disabled. In Discord and Chrome/Edge settings, turn off Hardware Acceleration.
Tighten GPU minimum clock frequency
In AMD Adrenalin -> Performance -> Tuning, enable Custom Tuning, enable Tuning, and set Min Frequency (MHz) to approximately 100MHz below Max Frequency to prevent rapid voltage droop during state switching.
Run AMD Cleanup Utility in Safe Mode
Download official AMD Cleanup Utility, boot into Safe Mode, run tool to remove all audio and display driver traces, and reinstall the latest recommended WHQL Adrenalin package.
